Liquid chrome is back on every moodboard. Used well, it makes a brand feel precise and alive. Used badly, it looks like a 2003 screensaver.
Where chrome works
Chrome needs something to reflect. It works best as a single hero object against a dark, controlled background, where the reflections carry the brand colour.
Where it fails
On text, on buttons and on anything small. Chrome turns tiny shapes into noise. Keep it big, keep it rare, and let the rest of the design stay flat and calm.
